Judy Chamberlain can move an audience to tears, joy and laughter in the time it takes to sing a four-minute song. Known for her unusual 4,000 song repertoire of Twentieth Century American popular music, Chamberlain swings the standards, harmonizes with her horn section and knows her way around a ballad, funk, blues, soul and Motown. Her versatile singing and performance style makes her an engaging presence on any stage.

An award-winning bandleader sho specializes in vintage swing, pop, R&B and jazz, the critically-acclaimed singer is a New York City native who has been entertaining people musically since before she could talk. She began performing professionally at the age of 13, and honed her communication skills as a radio and T.V. personality and daily newspaper columnist before returning to her first career – singing and fronting a band – more than two decades ago.

Named “one of the top jazz singers of all time” by author Scott Yanow, Chamberlain has been featured on ABC’s “The Bachelor,” The Style Network’s “Wedding, Altered” and in the Playboy Jazz Festival.

In addition to her own busy performance schedule, she has been the artistic director for numerous prestigious California jazz venues, as well as the offsite concert producer for Los Angeles, California’s Pacific Public Radio.

During the 1980′s and 1990′s, Chamberlain was a familiar on-air presence on California airwaves with her Dining with Judy and Savoir Fare shows on K-OCEAN FM 103.1, The Orange County Newschannel (OCN) and KIK-FM 94.3.

While on-the-spot requests are normally child’s play for Chamberlain (see partial song list), she admits to being thrown for a loop one night in Palm Springs when Paul Anka asked if her vast repertoire included My Way, the signature classic he had penned for Frank Sinatra in the late 1960′s.

Chamberlain offered the composer her usual response: “Do I look like Frank Sinatra? Or Paul Anka?”

“Or ELVIS?”

Anka promptly re-wrote the lyrics for her.
