Judy Chamberlain can move an audience to tears in the time it takes to sing a four-minute song. A highly respected music historian, consultant and event producer, she is also an extraordinary entertainer. The singer/bandleader, a native New Yorker who began performing professionally at the age of 13, honed her communication skills as a radio and T.V. commentator and lifestyle/hospitality industry columnist before returning to her first career — music — more than two decades ago.

Chamberlain, who has written numerous articles for a variety of media including the Los Angeles Times, is also frequently the subject of newspaper and magazine articles and interviews. She has appeared on ABC’s “The Bachelor,” The Style Network’s “Wedding, Altered” and in the Playboy Jazz Festival.

In addition to her own busy performance schedule, Chamberlain has served as Music Director for numerous prestigious jazz venues and was Producer/Artistic Director for Pacific Public Radio’s jazz concerts, including the Los Angeles Jazz Festival.

A native New Yorker and fourth generation musician, known for her spontaneity and legendary 4,000 song repertoire that spans every decade and genre of American popular music, she was named “one of the top jazz singers of all time” by author Scott Yanow.

During the 1980′s and 1990′s, Chamberlain was a familiar on-air presence on California airwaves with her Dining with Judy and Savoir Fare shows on K-OCEAN FM 103.1, The Orange County Newschannel (OCN) and KIK-FM 94.3.

While on-the-spot requests are normally child’s play for Judy (see partial song list), she admits to being thrown for a loop one night in Palm Springs when Paul Anka asked if she ever sang his classic, My Way.

Chamberlain offered her “usual” response: “Do I look like Frank Sinatra? Or Paul Anka?”

“Or ELVIS?”

Anka promptly re-wrote the lyrics for her.
